Manitoba's top Para-swimmers excel in Windsor Ontario

Manitoba's Para-swimmers Matt Miller, Josh Pereira & Robyn Sliva put down strong performances at the 2017 Speedo Can Am International Championships                             March 31 – April 2 in Windsor ON.

“Returning home from a great weekend of racing against 160 athletes from Canada, USA and Mexico the Manitoba trio performed extremely well at this competition. The depth of field at the Can Am International Championships makes for an outstanding event for our athletes to race against their sport class rivals. This is a big meet for our athletes as it is within the qualifying window for Canada Summer Games in August 2017.  Matt Miller of St James Seals Swim Club , Josh Pereira of Winnipeg Wave Swim Club & Robyn Sliva of Para Storm Swim Club are all vying for a spot on Team Manitoba for CSG hosted in Winnipeg this summer. Being able to race at a larger event such as Can Am’s provides the athletes with the experience they need to handle the pressure and excitement of an event such as CSG. We anticipate continued racing success for the trio as we move into our final two meets within the qualifying window. Miller, Pereira & Sliva are hopeful that they will be selected to the Canada Summer Games Team being named in early May” says Para Storm Swim Club head coach Karen Williams.
