The National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) is the recognized national standard for coach training and certification in Canada. When you take an NCCP clinic, you’ll gain technical abilities as well as leadership and decision-making skills. NCCP training will open doors to new opportunities in coaching and in life.

Looking for a coaches certification? A coaches transript provides verification of NCCP credentials. Permission to view the transcript must be provided by the coach, along with their NCCP # and the coach’s last name as it appears in the Locker.

Professional Development

In order for NCCP coaches to maintain their trained and certified status, they are required to obtain PD points. The number of points depends on the coaching context in which they coach and Swimming Canada provides its coaches with a period of 5 years to collect their PD points.

Mentorship

Mentorship is a powerful resource with the potential to positively influence the growth and success of people in sport. Mentoring is a relationship where one or multiple mentors provide guidance and support to one or more mentees to improve career development (Ensher et al., 2003; Newby & Heide, 2013).

Coaches Conference

The CSCA believes that it is important for Coaches to be engaged in ongoing Professional Development programs.  To this end we work with our partners to offer several different opportunities both online and in person.

Manitoba Swim Coaches Association

The Manitoba Swim Coaches Association (MSCA) represents registered and certified swimming coaches in Manitoba. The MSCA provides a forum for members to discuss technical matters relating to competitive swimming. The role of MSCA is to review the technical program and suggest adaptation for improvements of swimming in the province. The MSCA is chaired by a coach elected by the Membership of Swim Manitoba.
